I almost posted about this a while ago, but its taking until today to realize the full depth of this guys work. What an amazing mix of shit! Hes got a lot of LPs out there and this is the first post where I’m writing to ask the readers for some help. Seeing as I now work for Nazi Corp and no access to YT and Pandora and Grooveshark, im asking the readers, if you could take some time to give me a suggestion of his stuff. I was introduced to this band on myspace by a member of Goosepimp Orchestra, who I think will be the focus of my next post. They were described to me as being similar to Ratatat. They don’t have any lyrics and there are lots of hip beats and pleasurable sounds, and are similar to Ratatat in that way, but I think they are less hip hop and more electronic jazz. The first album I heard from them is Fire It Up, which is an awesome album for the most part. The end of the album slows down a bit though so if you are in an upbeat mood, I would stop after the eighth track (doesn’t mean you shouldn’t listen to the whole thing). They are playing at the Middle East downstairs in Cambridge on Feb. 20th.

Lastly, why is Everything Before is on this album? It already made an appearance on the compilation album It Sounds Like, one of my most favorite albums.
I had the opportunity to see an early screening of Tron early this week and obviously I jumped on it. Of course a great allure of the movie, besides being a contemporary remake/sequel of an 80s classic, is the sound track by the Fathers of Electronic, Daft Punk.
Honestly, I didn’t get a very “DP” impression from the get go, but during one scene that includes a cameo appearance, it hits:

I thought the film was great – entertaining and fun. The sound is incredible on the theater sound system. I wish I watched the original before I went, but it was so spur of the moment I didn’t get a chance. If you can, I would suggest you do. Enjoy!

Listening to Pandora on my Whitest Boy Alive station and came across this. Reminds me of Jamiroquai with some jazzy background. Could be an awesome band. We’ll have to do some more research.
