While many of us have heard Daft Punk’s “Robot Rock”, not many of us know that it was sampled from an early 80′s classic named “Release the Beast” by funk synth masters Breakwater. Please enjoy this gem.

This blows my mind! I always thought Daft Punk came up with it originally and I was amazed on how they were able to get it to sound like the music was mimicking “Robot Rock”. Who knew this group Breakwater was really behind it all along. It makes me wonder what other tracks have been sampled for contemporary hits.
